Undergraduate student success at RCSI Research Day 2024

Congratulations to Ronan Cleary who was awarded the undergraduate Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) in Research Award at RCSI Research Day 2024. Ronan received the award for his contribution to the Youth Experience Matters project while on a summer research placement.
RCSI Research Day emphasises the importance of PPI to ensure that the perspectives of people with lived experience of the condition are incorporated into the research process. The Youth Experience Matters project team had a significant emphasis on PPI. Ronan worked with the Youth Experience Matters project team at CP-Life Research Centre as part of the RCSI Research Summer School programme.
You can read more about PPI in the Youth Experience Matters project in this poster.
Ronan also delivered an excellent oral presentation at RCSI’s Research Day outlining the key priorities of adolescents with physical disability for enhancing their physical activity participation. He highlighted his specific contributions and spoke of his experience participating in RCSI’s Research Summer School and the impact it had on his career aspirations.
