Together with our clinical partner, the Central Remedial Clinic, we are delighted to launch a postgraduate module in Paediatric Neurodisability, starting in March 2025. The module aims to develop knowledge, skills and evidence-based practice in childhood-onset neurological (physical) disability.

This 10-credit part-time micro-credential in Paediatric Neurodisability uses a case-based approach with cases drawn from a range of childhood-onset neurological disabilities. Learners will develop essential clinical skills in understanding, assessing, and providing evidence-based interventions. Leaners will also learn strategies to manage complexity, support participation, and work within a multidisciplinary setting.

The course is aimed at healthcare professionals (all disciplines) who are building skills in paediatric (physical) neurodisability, particularly colleagues who are new to physical disability and now have that caseload in Children’s Disability Network Teams or primary care. It is also relevant to experienced colleagues seeking to explore up-to-date evidence.

We developed this course with our clinical partner, the Central Remedial Clinic, in response to the need for training to address workforce challenges, identified in the HSE Roadmap for Service Improvement for Disability Services for Children and Young People 2023-2026.
